CiteAnyStyle is free to use for personal and academic work, including coursework and submissions to journals.
Accuracy
We format according to the published style manuals and we name the edition and review date on every style page. Even so, catalogue records contain errors, style manuals are revised, and individual journals impose house variations. Check a generated reference against your department's or publisher's requirements before you submit. The final responsibility for a reference list is yours.
Availability
The site is static and the lookups depend on third-party catalogues. If Crossref, Open Library or PubMed is unavailable, manual entry still works.
Acceptable use
Do not automate bulk requests through the site. Query the underlying APIs directly instead, under their own terms. They are free and documented.
