About DOIs
What is a DOI?
A Digital Object Identifier is a permanent address for a piece of research. It always starts with 10. followed by a slash, for example 10.1126/science.1225829. Publishers print it on the first page of the article and in the PDF metadata.
What if the DOI returns nothing?
Some publishers register records slowly, and a few older articles were never assigned a DOI. Enter the details manually; the formatting rules are the same either way.
Which citation styles can I export to?
